Program

The objective of the architecture student competition is to design a public library and supporting outdoor spaces utilizing metal building systems as the primary construction.

Sustainability Aspect
This new facility should embody the community’s commitment to environmental responsibility and incorporate sustainable strategies into the way that the building is designed and operated. In particular, the new facility should take advantage of the sustainability benefits associated with using metal building construction. Judging Criteria
The submitted designs need to:

  • Demonstrate an understanding of metal building construction.
  • Be a suitable proposal for the context and architectural design.
  • Show technical understanding and integrity.
  • Have constructability and practicality.
  • Be supported by an overall professional presentation—video, graphics, renderings.

Intellectual Property/ Copyright
The creator owns copyright of the project. However, MBMA reserves the right to publish all materials and to modify the presentation of images to better suit any publication format.
